About Ekta Sehgal, Registered Psychotherapist in Kingston, Ontario
A thoughtful, grounded approach to therapy
Hi, I’m Ekta Sehgal, a Registered Psychotherapist based in Kingston, Ontario.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade working as a Radiologist. That experience shaped the way I understand people—through careful attention, deep listening, and a respect for the complexity of human experience.
Today, I bring that same depth and presence into my work as a therapist.
I support individuals who are navigating self-doubt, anxiety, and the emotional impact of past experiences, helping them move toward a greater sense of clarity, confidence, and self-understanding.
How I understand my clients
Many of the people I support feel like they are carrying a lot internally while appearing fine externally. They find themselves caught in cycles of self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, or a sense of not feeling “good enough,” even when things may look fine on the outside.
These experiences are often shaped by past relationships, life events, and long-standing patterns that can be difficult to shift alone.
In therapy, we take time to understand these patterns with curiosity rather than judgment, so that change feels possible and sustainable.
My approach to therapy
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we explore the underlying patterns, beliefs, and experiences that may be shaping how you feel today.
I aim to support you in developing greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and a more supportive relationship with yourself—at a pace that feels safe and manageable. To learn more about my approach click here
An inclusive and affirming space
As a Registered Therapist in Kingston, Ontario, I am committed to offering a space that is respectful, inclusive, and affirming of diverse identities and lived experiences.
This includes supporting neurodiversity and providing an LGBTQ+ affirming environment where all aspects of who you are welcomed without judgment.
Why I became a therapist
My transition into psychotherapy came from a desire to work more deeply with the emotional and psychological aspects of human experience.
I’ve seen firsthand how deeply our internal world affects our well-being, relationships, and sense of self—and how powerful it can be to feel truly understood in that process.
